On Thursday 25 September the Papamoa College Kapa Haka roopu performed at Tamapahore Marae in Papamoa. Our students delivered an outstanding performance which displayed pride and rich history of Tauranga Moana. Kapa Haka is a unique medium for learning and developing relationships, between students, between kaiako and students, between whanau and kaiako, and for authentic interaction and learning in a marae setting. During the last week of term 3, three students represented Papamoa College at the North Island Secondary Schools Snowboarding Champs held at the Turoa Ski Field. Paul Smith Y11, Jake Trafford Y10 and Jake Syme Y11 all competed in 3 events: Boarder Cross, Giant Salomon and Slope Style. All 3 students are reasonably new to the sport of Snowboarding, but certainly gave it their all. Well done...
