Continued Industrial Action

The secondary teachers union (PPTA - Post Primary Teachers Association) has advised schools that there will be further industrial action as follows:

Rostering Home
This means that on the following days, certain groups of students will not be taught by PPTA union members.

Tuesday 11June    Year 10 - CANCELLED

Tuesday 18 June - Regional Industrial Action

The Bay of Plenty Regional Strike set for Tuesday 18 June has been CALLED OFF.

Therefore all students are expected to attend school as normal on this day.

We have received information that talks between the secondary teachers union PPTA and the government have continued.

I will continue to keep you informed regarding any future industrial action.

The following industrial action may still occur:

Tuesday 25 June   Year 11
Tuesday  2 July     Year 12

In response to this, Papamoa College will be unable to offer classes for these groups of students on the specified days.

Please note that there could be a chance that some or all of the above industrial actions, may be called off and therefore do not occur.

We will certainly keep you informed and will confirm with you the exact nature of industrial action when we are notified.
