CAA Numeracy and Literacy Workshops

Year 10 students, along with other students who have not yet achieved these requirements, will sit the CAA (Common Assessment Activities) exams for both Literacy and Numeracy in Weeks 5 and 6 of this term. A series of workshops will be held beforehand to support students in preparing for these assessments.

Students need to pass both of these exams to secure their NCEA Level 1 certificate. Passing them in year 10 is a massive win, it means one less thing to worry about in 2027!

The first set of exams will take place in Week 5 and 6 of this term. We will send out more specific details by email soon, meanwhile please see attached guide that explains the basics of how the requirements work.

To help students feel confident and ready, our teachers are running specific workshops. These were a huge help for our Year 10 students last year, so it is highly recommended that they come along. To make it even better, we’ll have ice blocks on offer during some of these sessions.
