Congratulations to Year 8 Student Layla Clarke who won the Peoples Choice Award and Second Place in the Intermediate category at this year's Young Innovators Awards (yia!) Evening on Wednesday 6 September. Layla developed an Emotional Attendance App that allows you to check in and mark your emotions during attendance each day. Layla received $750 for Second Place and $200 for the Peoples Choice Award! Well done also to Brooke Barry (Y12) who was selected as a Finalist for her 'Driveway Worm'. The New Zealand Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week and Rugby by The Beach took place from Monday 28 August until Friday 1 September. It was an incredible experience for our students. LMS Speech Finals

The 2023 LMS Speech Finals took place on Friday 1 September. Congratulations to all the Finalists for the high standard and quality of their speeches. Well done to the winners Layla Clark (Y8) and Sade Willet (Y7) who will go on to represent the College at the WBOP Speech Finals later this month. Layla's speech was entitled 'Lies' and Sadie spoke on 'Why we shouldn't live on Mars'.
