Well done to our team of students who competed in the Hillary Challenge on Sunday 7 May. The challenge is an intense adventure race that involves running, cycling, orienteering and rogaining.
The team was made up of five Pāpāmoa College students and three from Mount College; Jorja Cooper (Y12), Tiriarangi Mastny (Y12), Alex Tilby-Adams (Y11), Olivia Tilby-Adams (Y13), Josh Dawson (Y12) and Mount College students Jayden, Kadin and Macka.
For six hours these amazing athletes scrambled up and down hills and ran through pine and redwood forests covering 43 kms and a total of 881m elevation gain in this gruelling event.
The Challenge is designed to offer participants a unique and thrilling adventure that requires teamwork, problem-solving and incredible endurance.
What an incredible achievement!
Special thanks to Tui Hambrook, Sue Tilby-Adams and the parent support team for your help.
