We are thrilled to share that several of our students represented the Pāpāmoa Surf Lifesaving Club at the recent Oceans’ Festival of Junior Lifesaving (Thursday 22 Feb – Sunday 25 February) and the New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Championships (Thursday 14 – Sunday 17 March), and their performances have been nothing short of exceptional!
Oceans’ Festival place-getters:
Tristan Lim-Yock (Y9) – Gold in U13 Beach Sprints, and Gold in U13 Beach Flags
Brayden Lim-Yock (Y9) – Silver in U14 Board Rescue, and Bronze in U13 Beach Sprints
Sam Wing (Y7) – Bronze in Beach Flags U11, and Gold in Beach Relay U11
New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Championships place-getters:
Ellie Davis (Y10), Emily Mardon (Y11), Fergus McHardy (Y13), and Oliver Pepers (Y11) all reached the finals and achieved personal bests.
Oliver Pepers (Y11) – 1st place in Run Swim Run, 1st place in Surf Race, 2nd place in Diamond (swim and board paddle), 3rd place in U17 Male Surf Team, 3rd place in U17 Male Taplin (with Fergus McHardy)
Fergus McHardy (Y13) – 3rd place in U17 Male Taplin (with Oliver Pepers)
