Ngā Pōtiki Tangata Whenua

Our kura sits on a historic rohe with strong connections to Waitaha and Ngā Pōtiki a Tamapahore.

We have an excellent relationship with Ngā Pōtiki a Tamapahore. As well as meeting with Kaumatua and leaders from the Iwi, we are lucky to have Ngā Pōtiki throughout the kura.

At a governance level, a designated iwi representative sits on our Board. Our leader of Te Ao Māori is also from Ngā Pōtiki and ensures our reo and customary practices that are taught are consistent with Ngā Pōtiki mita and kawa. Working directly with our staff and students, we also have a staff member who is Ngā Pōtiki and ensures that our localised curriculum is authentic and tūturu.
